Life Legacy

Carl T. Ludden, 81, a resident of Lederach for the last 20 years, formerly of Harleysville, passed away at Grand View Hospital on November 1, 2009. He and his wife, Bettianne (Betton) Ludden, observed their 48th wedding anniversary on June 24th of this year. Born December 22, 1927 in Pittston, he was the son of the late Thomas F. and Helene (Schimmelbusch) Ludden and was a 1948 graduate of Dickinson College where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. Mr. Ludden was a senior research pharmacologist at Merck where he was employed for over 35 years. He was a member of Pocono Masonic Lodge and was a 32 degree Mason with Lehigh Consistory. He was associated with Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church. Mr. Ludden enjoyed reading about history, completing crossword puzzles, and enjoyed baseball. Above all, he was devoted to his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, C. Thomas Ludden and his wife Karen Libertiny Ludden of Farmington Hills, Michigan; a daughter, Nurianne Tomas of St. Cloud, Minnesota; and four grandchildren, Andrew, Daniel, Vince, and Tayo. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard Ludden. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 1:30PM on Thursday, November 5, at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., Skippack Pike @ Cedars Rd., Skippack, where friends may call for the viewing from 12-1:30PM. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
